Busy Bee Party

Sorry about the lack of posts, folks - we are immersed in harvest time, plus field clean up, sowing cover crop, and hoping our green house doesn't blow away! We are relieved that the hurricane damage was minimal - but last night we got some frost action as well; expect things to wrap up in a cataclysm of squash and tomato bounty.

In that theme - this Sunday we would like to invite you, our CSA members, Farmer's Market customers, as well as children, friends, neighbors, and relatives to the Farm on Sunday, October 3rd.

From 1pm - 4pm at the farm, 147 Bauline Line Extention, Portugal Cove, we will be offering tours of the farm, vegetable snacks (the rare & elusive celery will be brought forth!), and we can all pitch in to clean up the last of the harvest from the fields. This may include planting garlic or digging up potatoes, depending on the weather.

From 7pm - 11pm at 216 Oliver's Pond Road, Portugal Cove, Nadya and Dave will host a pot-luck Harvest Dinner for everyone. Please bring something from your kitchen, and bring your instruments and singing voice for impromptu music afterward.

People are welcome to hang around in the cove with us all afternoon, which at some point may involve feeding the chickens, finding onions in the field, and generally helping cook dinner. Please send an RSVP to our email seedtospoon@gmail.com if you can, it helps us plan & organize!
